Notre Dame continues to make history in the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship, defeating Maryland 15-5 on Monday to seize its second consecutive title. With contributions from Chris and Pat Kavanagh, the Fighting Irish became the first team to win back-back championships since 2014.

The victory was a team effort, with Chris Kavanagh scoring five goals and his brother Pat assisting on six. This win marked Notre Dame's second title in the program's history and puts them amongst the elite nine teams who have won consecutive championships.

Notre Dame's dominance extended to the second quarter, with the first five goals pushing the score to 10-3. Chris Kavanagh, named the most outstanding player, netted three consecutive goals for a six-minute hat trick.

The Irish defense allowed only five goals, tying a program record for the fewest in an NCAA Tournament game.

With such impressive statistics, Notre Dame has set a high bar for the coming seasons. This victory not only cements their spot among the lacrosse elite but also promises an exciting future for the team.
